Brain Week Rhode Island
UPDATE: COVID-19 & 2020 Events
In light of the developing COVID-19 situation, the Brain Week RI committee has come to the difficult decision of postponing Brain Week events and BRAINY School Visits until further notice. Many of our sponsors, including Brown University, RIDOH, and Lifespan have instituted formal policies that call for the mandatory cancellation of several events. In addition, the DANA Foundation, the international outreach organization for brain science, has asked that event organizers take necessary action to ensure the health and safety of participants, volunteers, and attendees.
We feel that this decision is inclusive of those who are at genuine risk or who feel uncomfortable attending events at this time. It also takes into consideration the fact that many of our presenters and volunteers are essential health care providers. These are doctors, nurses and administrators who care for our most vulnerable.
As soon as we resume event planning, we will invite everyone to join us for some brain health!
Supported by Cure Alliance for Mental Illness, Brain Week RI aims to celebrate the wealth of neuroscience in Rhode Island, building off of Brain Awareness Week. Brain Awareness week is a global campaign to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research, to bring scientists, educators and artists together with the community to discover the vast wonder of the brain.
