Drawing of neurons by Santiago Ramon y CajalIt’s time to break out the creativity! This is an art contest for any sort of brain-inspired art, in any medium (as long as you can bring it to the fair). The contest is open to all ages, children and adults.

The mission of Providence’s Brain Art Fair is to promote creative expression of the mind and brain through pictorial and artistic representation. By reaching out to school aged kids in the greater Providence area, we aim to encourage exploration of different ways to depict the brain and its many facets, with the hope it can also inspire a spirit of inquiry in young children and make the sciences accessible to everyone.

The schedule for the Brain Art Fair will be as follows:

9:30 – 9:50 AM: Art drop off/set up
10:00 – 11:30 AM: Fair and judging of artwork
11:30 AM: Winners announced
12:30 PM: Art must be broken down and taken

To drop off artwork the morning of the fair, come in through the front of Providence CityArts (there will be signs), and drop-off will be right inside the door (event organizers will handle the artwork).

There will be street parking available on Lexington Ave and some across the street in the parking lot for America’s Food Basket. The entrance for CityArts is on Broad Street. The entrance for the school on Lexington will not be open.
